This costume was inspired by Brazil and its culture. Representing Brazil in the Miss Universe 2020 international competition is Julia Gama, Miss Brasil 2020. My interpretation of her national costume takes elements and traditions Brazil is most known for all combined within one costume. The colors come directly from the Brazilian flag. The glitter mesh bodysuit also takes inspiration from the 27 stars on the flag. The silhouette is inspired by Brazil's notorious festival, Carnival, and famous Brazilian actress, Carmen Miranda. Her headpiece details reflect the colors of the flag, has a mountain of fruit, similar to the headpieces Carmen Miranda is known for, and showcases the statue of Christ the Redeemer. This costume is fun and festive and invites the crowd to celebrate with her as she parties down the catwalk.
