For this project students were required to create a fantasy costume for either a male or female that highlighted one of the four elements: earth, wind, fire, or water. I was assigned female and earth. From there, I decided to create an earth fairy with a mythological origin story rooted in the Gaelic stories of the Scottish fairy Seelie courts. I created the entire persona and background of Aileen the Earth Fairy. Below you will find more information about her character and backstory. I designed and constructed this costume and after multiple fittings conducted a photoshoot to create a real life version of this character.
